In a recent presentation delivered to the CRN’s Delivery Form Safety Task Force, Procter & Gamble’s Dr. Michael J. Kerins discusses the swallowing difficulties often encountered when taking tablets. In the presentation, Kerins notes that tablets are responsible for more supplement-related ER visits than any other dosage form, and are the only oral dosage form associated with mortality.
Kerins also offers informative insights on how alternate product forms, improved taste, and modification of consumer behaviour can impact swallowing and safety.
